The Russian police choir sing Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’

Seeing well-fed members of the Russian Interior Ministry of police choir sing Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ is that rare moment of pure musical genius that represents in real-time the evolutionary intersection of Western musical influence and Eurasian interpretive efforts at cultural assimilation.

Watching these Russian choir members gyrate their hips, flare their hands, and give sensual nods is a captivating sight to behold. I’m especially enthralled  by the bobbing of warts above thick smiles and the occasional shot of an onlooking and bemused Russian woman as she watches the fully uniformed lead singer thrust his arms while singing, “I’m up all night to get some.”
