Ingress: Which side will you choose?

Prepare yourself for a video gaming experience unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before.

Ingress begins with a personal, albeit moral choice. You must decide to join either the “Resistance,” who are trying to prevent the assimilation of the human race by an unknown “Shaper” force, or you must join the “Enlightened” faction, who believe that cooperating with the “Shaper” force will lead to the advancement of mankind.

Each side must establish “control fields” over geographic areas, which are created by claiming portals at real locations throughout the world and linking these portals by using portal keys. Once three portals have been linked, a control field is established and the battle will begin. Your goal is to cooperate with other faction members to secure or liberate the entire world, and preserve the future of mankind. This is modern science fiction at its best and it is the basis for the triumphant augmented reality gaming hit, Ingress.

Join the Enlightened
Faction attempting to help the Shapers infiltrate Earth. Followers believe that the Shapers bring a powerful enlightenment that will lift humankind.

Join the Resistance
Faction defending the Earth from the Shaper ingression. They are seen by some as being fearful of change or progress, but the Resistance is firm in its belief that it is protecting humanity.

After four million downloads on the Android operating system, Niantic Labs has released a version of Ingress for iOS, hoping to create a fresh batch of new gamers, walking or driving around town to find new portals and take down those controlled by the other side. It is a great experience that will get you out of the house and out into the real world.
