The San Francisco-Oakland Bay bridge is considered one of the most complex engineering feats in California history. The bridge connects Oakland, Yerba Buena Island, and the San Francisco Bay area to alleviate one of the most congested transportation networks in the nation.

The San Franciso-Oakland Bay bridge was officially opened to the public in September 2013, and cost $7 billion. The featured time-lapse video shows the culmination of 42,000 hours of construction across a distance of 4 miles.
